Pakistan’s Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has reduced the Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) prices effective December 1.
For Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), the transmission price is set at $11.9659 per mmbtu (down 3.26%), while the distribution price is $12.8997 per mmbtu (down 2.72%). Comparatively, in November, the prices were $12.3695 for transmission, $13.2609 for distribution
For Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL), the transmission price is $10.5415 per mmbtu (down 6.02%), and the distribution price is $12.5456 per mmbtu (down 1.99%). Last month, price was $11.2166 for transmission, and $12.8005 for distribution.
Moreover, LNG based electricity generation in November declined 55% to 904 GWh, while in five months of the fiscal year, LNG based generation declined by 5%.
It may be mentioned here, the country has surplus availability of LNG, and to avoid the glut, government has made arrangement with Qatar to defer five cargoes for next year. Similarly, talks are underway with other contract supplier to defer cargoes for next year.
