Sheikh Mohammed approves AED 3.7 billion plan to expand Dubai’s road network
Dubai’s RTA announces a five-year initiative to develop 634 km of internal roads across 12 districts.
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled a five-year internal roads development plan, running from 2025 to 2029.
Approved by Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the AED3.7 billion project will develop 634 kilometers of new roads across 12 residential, commercial, and industrial areas.
The plan is aimed at supporting Dubai’s rapid population growth and urban expansion while enhancing infrastructure for residents, according to an announcement on X.

"The Five-Year Internal Roads Development Plan will cover 12 areas with urbanization rates between 30% and 80%," RTA’s Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors Mattar Al Tayer said.
In 2025, new internal roads will be constructed in Nad El Sheba 3 and Al Amardi supporting the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment project, which includes 482 housing units.
Additional road networks will also be developed in Hatta, serving another housing project with 100 units.
