UAE's female Olympians gear up for glory in cycling, judo, swimming, and athletics

The Paris Olympics 2024, running from July 26 to August 11, will see the United Arab Emirates (UAE) represented by four outstanding women athletes. The UAE National Olympic Committee has announced that these athletes will compete in judo, swimming, cycling, and athletics events at the Summer Games.

Safiya Al Sayegh makes history as first female cyclist from the UAE to qualify for the Olympics.The 22-year-old Emirati rides for UAE Team ADQ, a professional women’s road racing team. Safiya completed her degree in Graphic Design from the University of Dubai this year.

Khorloodoi Bishrelt - Judo

Originally from Mongolia, Khorloodoi Bishrelt is set to represent the UAE in the Olympics. Bishrelt brings a wealth of experience and accolades to the women's 52kg judo category. Her bronze medal at the 2021 Judo Grand Slam in Paris underscores her prowess and determination to shine on judo's grandest stage.

Maha Abdullah Al Shehi - Swimming

Maha Abdullah Al Shehhi represents Al Nasr sports club in the UAE.

At just 18 years old, Maha Abdullah Al Shehhi will represent the UAE in the women's 200m freestyle at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Her selection marks a milestone for Emirati swimming, showcasing her speed and potential on the global stage at Paris La Défense Arena.

Maryam Mohammed Al Farsi - Athletics

Maryam will be representing the UAE on August 4 in the world Olympics 2024.AIS athletic UAETrack and field

Runner Maryam Mohammed Al Farsi will compete in the 100m race at the Stade de France. She was hailed for her gold medal at the inaugural Gulf Youth Games in the UAE.

As the UAE celebrates its 11th appearance at the Olympics since 1984, these women athletes carry the nation's hopes and aspirations. The UAE's inaugural gold medal at Athens in 2004 by Sheikh Ahmed bin Hasher serves as a poignant reminder of the country's journey and commitment to sporting greatness.
