Sisters Zamzam, 17, and Ghala Al Hammadi, 15, are gearing up to defend their World Junior MMA Championship titles in the in the upcoming new edition 2024 competitions competitions from August 6-10 at Mubadala Arena, Zayed Sports City.
Over five days, MMA athletes aged 12-17 will compete in three categories: Youth C (12-13), Youth B (14-15), and Youth A (16-17). The championship, featuring over 800 athletes from 45 countries, will be held in Abu Dhabi for the third year in a row.
Zamzam said, “I am participating in this edition in the 52 kg category, and I feel that things are very good and I am eagerly awaiting the start of the competitions,” hoping that this edition will be a new stage for winning the title and maintaining the UAE’s global leadership in martial arts.

Zamzam made history as the first female champion in UAE’s MMA history by winning the 52kg gold last year, while Ghala secured the 40kg gold with the fastest armbar in tournament history.
