Gandhara Independent Film Festival 2025
The three-day festival will showcase short films from local and international filmmakers in Karachi
It will provide a platform for artists to share stories that challenge, inspire, and provoke conversation
Independent cinema takes the spotlight this October as Nukta partners with the 6th Edition of the Gandhara Independent Film Festival (GIFF 2025) — a Cirque Films initiative celebrating creativity, culture, and the art of storytelling.
Set to take place from 17th to 19th October 2025 at the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA), Karachi, GIFF 2025 brings together filmmakers, audiences, and creatives from across Pakistan and the world. The theme, “Where Stories Shape Culture,” reflects both GIFF’s and Nukta’s shared belief in storytelling as a force for connection and change.
The festival will showcase short films from local and international filmmakers, providing a platform for emerging and established artists to share stories that challenge, inspire, and provoke conversation.
The event will be held at NAPA in Karachi from October 17 to 19, 2025. The opening night is scheduled for Friday, October 17, starting at 6:30 PM. Screenings will take place on October 18 and 19, with gates opening at 3 PM each day.
GIFF organizers call Nukta’s involvement “a promising collaboration that amplifies the voices shaping Pakistan’s independent cinema.” Through this partnership, Nukta will cover the festival, spotlight key films, and celebrate the creative spirit driving the country’s cinematic evolution.
As the screens light up at NAPA, one idea remains at the heart of it all — stories have the power to shape culture.
