ADNOC signed a long-term agreement to supply LNG to Gujarat Energy in India. The deal is the first sale from XRG’s international gas portfolio.
WAM
ADNOC signed a long-term Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) on Friday to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Gujarat Energy Ltd in India, WAM reported. The LNG will come from the international gas portfolio of XRG, ADNOC’s international investment company.
What does the ADNOC and Gujarat Energy LNG deal cover?
Gujarat Energy will receive up to 4 million tons of LNG over 10 years under the SPA. Deliveries start in 2028. The agreement is ADNOC’s fifth LNG supply agreement in India.
Why is the deal significant for XRG?
The agreement marks the first sale of molecules from XRG’s international portfolio. It is a significant step in XRG’s evolution as a globally integrated gas and LNG business.
The deal connects XRG-owned supply produced outside the Gulf with demand in India through ADNOC’s global LNG marketing and trading platform. It shows how the Group can bring molecules from its international portfolio to customers across the globe.
What did ADNOC say about the agreement?
Rashid Al Mazrouei, Chief Marketing and Origination Officer (LNG) at ADNOC, said the deal strengthens the company’s long-standing energy partnership with Indian customers. He said it reinforces ADNOC’s commitment to reliable, long-term LNG supplies.
He added that ADNOC’s integrated LNG marketing and trading platform connects its growing international portfolio with customers in key global regions. India will receive reliable, flexible and long-term supplies, he said.
What is ADNOC’s global LNG marketing and trading platform?
The deal builds momentum for ADNOC’s global LNG marketing and trading platform, which launched in Abu Dhabi Global Market in July 2026. The platform has now signed supply agreements with INPEX in Japan, Gulf Group in Thailand and Gujarat Energy in India.
The agreements expand ADNOC’s reach across some of Asia’s key LNG sectors. The platform targets 47 mtpa of marketable LNG beyond 2030, positioning ADNOC among the world’s leading LNG suppliers.
What did Gujarat Energy say about the partnership?
Avantika Singh Aulakh, Managing Director of GEL, said the partnership lets GEL and ADNOC fully realize the power of their collaboration. She said GEL leads the market at every stage of the energy journey.
GEL has robust regasification infrastructure, a city gas network across 44 districts in 6 states, and a fast-growing trading presence in India, she said.
Natural gas is central to India’s shift toward cleaner energy, Aulakh said. She described it as a crucial lower-carbon option that boosts industrial efficiency, offers households a safer cooking fuel and accelerates the growth of eco-friendly transportation.
