Pakistan enjoyed a landmark night in athletics at the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025 as star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem clinched the gold medal with a commanding throw of 83.05 metres, reaffirming his status as one of the top throwers in the world.

His victory adds to an already decorated history at the event — Arshad previously brought Pakistan glory with a record-breaking 88.55m throw to win gold at the 2022 Islamic Games in Turkey, after first making his mark with a bronze medal at the 2017 edition in Baku.

Adding to Pakistan’s celebrations this year, Yasir Sultan delivered a strong and composed performance to secure the silver medal, reaching 76.04 metres. His throw kept him firmly in second place and marked a major milestone in his rise on the international circuit.

The podium was completed by Nigeria’s Samuel Adams Kure, who earned the bronze medal with a close effort of 76.01 metres, narrowly missing the silver.

The double-medal finish marks one of Pakistan’s strongest displays in javelin at a major multi-sport event, underscoring both the experience of Arshad and the growing depth represented by Yasir.
