Fabulous or not, FLOBW is back
After a lackluster second season, does The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives actually deserve a third?"
The third season of The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives will release on October 18
The Fab Four consists of the wives of Chunky Panday and Sanjay Kapoor, Sohail Khan's ex and Neelam Kothari
The 'Fab' four debuted on Netflix in November 2020 and had Covid-19 not completely shifted people's worldviews, The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives (FLOBW) might not have garnered the views it did.
Season 1 might have seemed fun, but perhaps it was just the Covid effect.Netflix
Think back to 2020: what really were your entertainment options? Going out was a no. At-home gatherings of friends were a harder no. All we could do was sit around, binge on whatever Netflix or Prime were sending our way.
In that moment in time, a glimpse into the lives of Chunky Panday's wife, Sanjay Kapoor's spouse, Sohail Khan's (google him) ex-wife, and '80s star Neelam Kothari seemed intriguing. At worst, it could be a kitschy mess, but who doesn’t love a bit of that now and then?
And now, Karan Johar, who produces the reality show, dropped the following—albeit expected—bomb:
"The fabulous gang is back and they’re bringing in a spicy twist from Delhi!💁🏻♀️" Johar captioned the post.
What can we realistically expect from season 3?
To be honest, we don’t expect much. Season 2 was floundering at best, and the only watchable person in the show is Maheep Kapoor, who plays the 'brash one'.
We’re also not interested in glimpses of Bollywood's next-gen, like Ananya Panday and Shanaya Kapoor. They just aren't fabulous enough.
We sincerely hope Neelam has either revived her acting career or moved on completely because if we see that storyline again, it might be time to cancel our subscription.
What's new?
FLOBW 3 introduces three new players: Riddhima Kapoor-Sahni, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor's daughter, Shalini Passi, and Kalyani Saya who will be joining the series regulars.
Not familiar with the new faces? Google them! But if you don't want to, Passi is married to Sanjay Passi, Chairman of PASCO Group, and Saya is the founder of Rezon Luxury Silverware.
The names and companies may mean nothing to you at all, but here's hoping the new faces of FLOBW add something of interest to the show. If they don’t, Karan Johar may have just lost us for good.
