Fielder had history of heart-related issues, which may have contributed to internal bleeding

The sudden death of German diplomat Thomas Fielder was confirmed as the result of a heart attack on Tuesday, according to a post-mortem report conducted at Polyclinic Hospital. Fielder’s family is en route to Pakistan to receive his body.

Fielder, who served as Third Secretary at the German Embassy in Islamabad, was found dead in his flat within the Diplomatic Enclave.

His body was discovered after embassy staff, concerned by his unexplained absence from work, forced entry into his apartment and found him unresponsive a day earlier.

Fielder was residing in the Diplomatic Enclave, a high-security zone that serves as both residence and workplace for numerous foreign diplomats.

Investigation Officer Khurram Aslam told Nukta that the post-mortem confirmed Fielder died of a severe heart attack.

“After obtaining consent from his family, we conducted the post-mortem, which verified the cause of death. His family is currently on their way to Pakistan,” Aslam stated.

History of heart issues

The post-mortem revealed that Fielder’s cardiac arrest was likely triggered by severe hypertension.

Medical experts observed internal bleeding and other symptoms consistent with high blood pressure, supporting earlier suspicions.

Fielder had a history of heart-related issues, which may have contributed to the internal bleeding observed from his nose and mouth.

The German Embassy had initially requested a delay in the post-mortem until consent was received from Fielder’s family, particularly his wife in Germany.

Fielder’s body has been moved to the morgue at PIMS Hospital, where it will remain until further instructions from his family and the German Embassy regarding repatriation.

Authorities have pledged full cooperation with the embassy and assured a transparent investigation.
