Pakistan's auto sales increase 28% in July

The sale of cars increased 28% year-on-year in July, according to data released on Tuesday.
The total number of units sold stood at 11,034.
However, it was almost half of the number of units sold in June.
According to the data, Pak Suzuki Motors once again topped the sales with 3,680 units sold in July. It was followed by Indus Motor Company Limited which sold 3,337 units. Honda sold 1,500 units and Hyundai 1,225, respectively.
Sazgar, which assembles Haval, sold 1,079 units.
The breakdown of specific models showed Toyota’s Corolla, Yaris and Cross models were cumulatively the most sold cars with 2,418 units. They were followed by Alto with 2,327 sold units and 1,710 units of Honda’s Civic and City.
Hyundai’s best-selling variants were Tuscon (546) and pick-up truck Porter (395).
Decline in sales
After bumper sales of 21,769 units in June, almost every model recorded a dip in sales in July.
The sale of Alto fell by 75% from 9,497 units in June.
The sale of Corolla, Yaris and Cross fell 17% month-on-month and that of Civic and City 33%.
Meanwhile, the sale of the Toyota Fortuner increased by 17% from 785 units in June to 919 units in July.
The sale of tractors fell 57% month-on-month and 18% year-on-year.
