Pakistan delivered a stellar performance at the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025, securing six medals — including one gold, two silver, and three bronze — in a highly competitive event that featured over 800 athletes from 27 countries.
The standout performer of the tournament was Bano Kousar, who clinched gold in the women’s 48kg contact jiu-jitsu category, making her one of the few Pakistani female athletes to reach the top of the podium.
Her victory marked a significant moment for Pakistan's growing presence in women’s martial arts.

On the final day of the championship, Muhammad Yousuf and Umer Yaseen won silver medals in the Duo and Show Men categories.
The pair competed in the Under-21 division for the first time, having previously been crowned Asian U18 Champions in 2024.
Pakistan also earned three bronze medals with M. Ali Rashid and M. Yousuf Ali in the Adult Duo Men category. Meanwhile, Isra Waseem and Kainat Arif in the Duo and Show Women categories.
Khalil Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Jiu-Jitsu Federation (PJJF), lauded the team’s overall performance said, “These medals are not just victories — they are a reflection of the world-class talent Pakistan possesses in ju-jitsu. Our athletes, coaches, and support staff deserve immense credit for their hard work and commitment.”
Mr. Tariq Ali, Secretary General of both the South Asian Regional Jiu-Jitsu Association and the Pakistan Jiu-Jitsu Federation, represented the country at the championship’s closing ceremony.
“Our young and female athletes have shown exceptional passion, skill, and sportsmanship. Pakistan has sustained a strong global presence in ju-jitsu for over 15 years, and we’re committed to building on that legacy,” Tariq said.
