In the latest budget, the government has made cars cheaper for the rich and more expensive for the middle class. In Pakistan, this has now become normal, something rarely seen elsewhere in the world.

Recently, the government imposed an energy levy on all locally assembled cars, which has caused an increase in the prices of vehicles ranging from 660cc to 2000 cc by PKR 200,000 to PKR 700,000.

However, duties on luxury cars imported for the wealthy, such as Land Cruisers, Prados, BMWs, and Bentleys, have been reduced, leading to a decrease in their prices by up to PKR 40 million (4 crore).
