Security forces kill 21 terrorists in Balochistan operations: ISPR

Security forces killed 21 terrorists belonging to Indian-sponsored proxies of Fitna al-Hindustan (BLA) and Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP) during operations in Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday. Six security personnel, including two officers and a Customs official, were martyred in the clashes in Chagai and Pishin districts.

The incidents occurred on the night of August 31 and September 1 in Nokcha, Chagai district, and Ziarat Cross, Pishin district, according to ISPR. Security forces engaged terrorist groups in both locations after they attempted separate attacks on civilian and government targets.

In Nokcha, terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan tried to disrupt traffic on the N-40 Quetta-Taftan Highway by setting up an illegal checkpoint for extortion. Security forces responded immediately, and 11 terrorists were killed after an intense exchange of fire. A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives was recovered from the site.

What happened at the Customs House in Pishin?

Terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij launched a coordinated night attack in an attempt to breach the Customs House in Pishin. Security forces repulsed the attack and killed 10 terrorists in the exchange of fire, with further casualties inflicted as fleeing terrorists were engaged. ISPR described the assault as a manifestation of the terror-crime nexus, aimed at stopping Customs officials from performing their duties.

How many security personnel were martyred?

Six security personnel, including two officers and a government official from the Customs Department, were martyred while performing their duties, ISPR said. Sanitisation operations are currently underway in the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining terrorists and secure vital national highways.
