28 Years of McDonald’s Pakistan: Celebrating the local partners behind the golden arches

As corporate Pakistan prioritizes domestic value addition and supply-chain resilience, McDonald’s marked its 28th anniversary with a partner recognition ceremony highlighting its long-term strategy of industrial localization.

The event, hosted at McDonald’s Etihad Town restaurant in Lahore, gathered leadership from major domestic industrial partners, including Packages Limited, poultry producer Big Bird, dairy pioneer Nurpur, Pronto Spaces, Saima Packaging Fresh & Freeze, and the Zaman Foundation.

Over the past 28 years, McDonald’s procurement model has served as an important catalyst for domestic capability-building. Through continuous technology transfer, capital-intensive cold-chain development, and international quality certifications, the company has helped local partners upgrade their processing and packaging infrastructure to global standards.

This collaborative approach has reduced dependence on imported inputs, fostered specialized manufacturing capabilities, and generated high-value technical employment across the agricultural and industrial sectors.

Addressing the gathering, McDonald’s leadership stated that establishing a competitive domestic supply chain has been fundamental to maintaining operational stability and product consistency. The 28-year milestone demonstrates the strategic value of long-term multinational and domestic corporate partnerships in strengthening Pakistan's industrial and economical ecosystem.
