Nukta Collaborates With Social Champ to Centralise Social Media Operations

Digital media platform Nukta has started working with Karachi-based social media management company Social Champ to bring its social publishing, scheduling and performance monitoring workflows into a single platform.

We operate across Pakistan and the UAE, with editorial and social teams working from Karachi, Lahore and Dubai across news, business, lifestyle and other content verticals. As the organisation manages content across an increasing number of social channels, coordinating publishing and monitoring across teams has become an increasingly important part of its newsroom operations.

Under the collaboration, our social and editorial teams are using Social Champ to manage content planning, scheduling, approvals, publishing and performance tracking through a shared workflow.

Our aim is to simplify the operational side of social publishing and give teams a clearer view of content moving through the pipeline, while allowing editorial teams to remain focused on producing and distributing content for their respective audiences.

For a newsroom, listening carries as much weight as publishing. Seeing where a story is being picked up and discussed tells the desk how to follow it up, where readers are asking questions, and how to frame the next update when it goes out.

Malik Bejar Ali, Chief Growth & Partnerships Officer, Nukta, said: "Our newsroom moves fast, and our audience is spread across several countries and platforms. We needed publishing to keep up without adding steps for the team, and we needed to see what was happening around a story, not just what we had posted about it. Social Champ gives us both in one place. Our editors spend their time on the story instead of on the mechanics of getting it out."

The collaboration also brings together two Pakistan-founded businesses with teams based in Karachi. Social Champ's team recently visited Nukta's Karachi office for a working session with the editorial and social teams, while colleagues from Lahore joined remotely.

The session focused on how Nukta's newsroom currently plans and distributes content, as well as the requirements that come with managing news content across multiple platforms and markets.

The discussions also covered potential product improvements and workflow requirements identified by Nukta's teams during their use of the platform.

Sameer Ahmed Khan, Co-founder and CEO of Social Champ, said: "Newsrooms are the hardest place for social software to hold up. The volume is high, the timing is unforgiving, and a lot of people touch the same channels at once. Nukta's team showed us how a story travels from the desk to every platform, then handed us a list of requests that is already shaping what we build next. We are proud they chose something built in Karachi to run it with."

For Nukta, the move is part of its broader work to develop the systems and processes supporting its editorial and digital operations across markets.

As the organisation continues to publish across websites, social networks and video platforms, the coordination between editorial, social and video teams remains an important part of its day-to-day operations.

The collaboration with Social Champ gives Nukta's teams a centralized system for managing part of that workflow, while also providing an opportunity for both teams to identify areas where social media tools can better serve the needs of a digital newsroom.
