Pakistan's army chief and chief of defense forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, visited the Quetta garrison on Saturday to review the security situation in Balochistan and assess military preparedness, the military said.
Munir was received at the garrison by the commander of Quetta Corps upon his arrival in the provincial capital.
What did Munir review during his Quetta visit?
Munir was briefed on Balochistan's security environment, operational readiness and measures being taken to maintain peace and stability, the military's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a statement. The briefing also covered coordination among state institutions and support for socio-economic development in the province.
Munir praised the troops for their professionalism, operational preparedness and commitment to their duties. He stressed the need for continued coordination between law enforcement agencies and other state institutions to strengthen security and create conditions for sustained economic activity and development.

The army chief said peace, prosperity and the well-being of Balochistan's people remained central to the state's efforts. He added that a secure environment was essential for advancing development projects and expanding economic opportunities in the province.
He also paid tribute to soldiers killed in the line of duty and commended officers and troops for their continued service, ISPR said.
