Corruption and mismanagement threaten Karachi’s project for disabled people
A prime plot worth PKR 100 billion, reclaimed during the Malir Expressway project, was illegally seized through land grabbing
Karachi’s ‘Inclusive City’ initiative for the welfare of disabled people is at risk due to corruption and mismanagement.
A prime plot worth Rs. 100 billion, reclaimed during the Malir Expressway project, was illegally claimed by the Karachi Development Authority, with a 10-acre section handed to a private party.
While courts reversed the grab, new threats emerged as the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board began building a garbage station on the land.
Nukta’s Special Correspondent Akhtiar Khokhar investigates this clash between public welfare and corruption.
