Corruption and mismanagement threaten Karachi’s project for disabled people

Karachi’s ‘Inclusive City’ initiative for the welfare of disabled people is at risk due to corruption and mismanagement.

A prime plot worth Rs. 100 billion, reclaimed during the Malir Expressway project, was illegally claimed by the Karachi Development Authority, with a 10-acre section handed to a private party.

While courts reversed the grab, new threats emerged as the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board began building a garbage station on the land.
