Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has announced the launch of Dubai Art Season 2025, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture.

Running from January 4 to April 20, 2025, and themed “Take a Walk on the Art Side,” this dynamic celebration will feature a broad array of initiatives, entertainment activities, and artistic festivals, further cementing Dubai’s position as a global hub for culture, creativity, and talent.

Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, CEO of the Arts & Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, highlighted the season’s importance in bolstering cultural industries and fostering a sustainable creative environment.

"Through its diverse artistic, cultural, and creative activities, Dubai Art Season offers a unique experience that reflects the essence of Dubai, its vibrancy, and its future aspirations," he said.

"It also highlights the emirate's capabilities in attracting creatives from around the world and cultivating connections among them, aligning with our priorities to enrich Dubai’s cultural movement and support cultural tourism."

A platform for artistic flourishing

The season will kick off with the fourth edition of the Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert festival, held from January 4 to 12 under the theme “Stories at One with Nature.” This event features a robust programme aimed at fostering sustainability in the regional film industry, including film screenings, live performances, workshops, and immersive experiences.

The Al Quoz Arts Fest, now in its twelfth edition, will take place on January 25 and 26, 2025, in the Al Quoz Creative Zone and Alserkal Avenue. The festival will showcase over 200 artistic and cultural events, including musical performances, exhibitions, and exceptional cultural experiences.

The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, the region’s largest celebration of the written word, returns for its seventeenth edition from January 29 to February 3, 2025, at the InterContinental Hotel Festival City. Bringing together writers, thinkers, and creatives from around the globe, the festival will feature 150 events, including author talks, workshops, and cultural highlights such as Desert Stanzas and LitFest Families.

The Sikka Art and Design Festival will run from January 31 to February 9, 2025, at the Al Shindagha Historic Neighbourhood, providing a platform for Emirati and regional artists to showcase their innovative work through exhibitions, workshops, and live performances.

Art Dubai, the region’s leading international art fair, will mark its 18th edition from April 18 to 20, 2025, at Madinat Jumeirah. Visitors will explore contemporary and international art through its four distinct sections: Contemporary, Modern, Bawwaba, and Art Dubai Digital. The fair will also include workshops and expert-led discussions.

Complementing these festivals, Dubai Opera will host a series of musical and theatrical performances throughout the year, featuring regional and international talents.

With a rich programme spanning art, literature, design, and performance, Dubai Art Season 2025 reflects Dubai Culture’s mission to enrich the emirate’s creative landscape. As it draws global talent and fosters local innovation, the season promises to captivate audiences while reinforcing Dubai’s role as a cultural and creative capital.
