Dubai’s Global Village opens latest season tonight
Much anticipated seasonal attraction set to open to the public at 6 p.m. on Oct. 16
Dubai’s Global Village will open to the public tonight, with a dazzling opening ceremony scheduled for 6 p.m.
Season 29 will run from Oct. 16, 2024, to May 11, 2025. It is on track to surpass previous records with the number of pavilions growing to 30, showcasing more than 90 cultures from diverse countries and comprising over 3,500 shopping outlets, while also hosting 250 plus dining options, more than 40,000 shows, and above 200 rides, games and attractions.
The family favorite seasonal attraction had previously announced a slew of new attractions. These include three new pavilions — Jordan, Iraq and a combined pavilion for Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The entrance of the new Iraq pavilion at Global Village is inspired by the ancient Babylonian Ishtar Gate.Global Village Website
An all-new Restaurant Plaza will also be introduced, offering 11 two-story dining experiences located next to the funfair, or Carnaval, with views of live performances on a central stage.
Major food alleys — Railway Market, Floating Market, and Fiesta Street — will be revamped, with Fiesta Street now featuring two-story kiosks to accommodate more diners. The park will also see more extensive green promenades throughout the premises.
A park regular, Bosnian House was the first to introduce Bosnian cuisine to the UAE when it debuted at Global Village in 2015.Global Village Website
Global Village will showcase an impressive lineup of world-class entertainment this season, featuring over 40,000 performances, including a new stunt show.
With more than 200 rides, games, and attractions—primarily at Carnaval®—the season highlights fan favorites like the Neon Galaxy X Challenge Zone and the largest House of Fear in the region. New this year is the Secrets of the Lost City, a treasure hunt attraction for guests ages 10 and up.
The Cyber City Danger Zone Stunt Show promises gravity-defying stunts, while the Main Stage will host international acts such as Urban Crew, AAINJAA, African Footprint, and MALEVO, alongside original shows like Merry Go Round and the new Haunted House. For younger guests, the Kids Theatre will present performances from The Wonderers, PJ Masks, Peter Rabbit, and Octonauts.
A 3D projection at the Gate of the World and a newly enlarged dragon at Dragon Lake will enhance the experience, with a laser and fire show scheduled hourly.
Global Village's renowned fireworks display will light up the sky every Friday and Saturday at 9 p.m. Additionally, the new Exo City Planet attraction will open soon, promising exciting experiences for the whole family.
To cater to diverse preferences, Global Village offers two ticket options. The Weekday ticket encourages visits from Sunday to Thursday (excluding public holidays), while the Any Day ticket allows flexibility for visits any day, including public holidays.
Tickets are now on sale for the season and can be purchased through the Global Village official website, mobile app, or at the ticket counters at the gates. Prices remain unchanged: the Any Day ticket is AED 30, and the Weekday ticket is AED 25.
Global Village will be open from 4 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Wednesday and from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. Entry on Tuesdays is restricted to families, couples, and ladies, unless it is a public holiday.
As a major highlight on Dubai's annual calendar of events, Global Village stands as the hub for significant activations and performances, while also playing an instrumental role as a key contributor to the emirate's cultural, recreational and community initiatives.
