A significant fire was reported at BAE Systems' BAES.L shipyard in Barrow-in-Furnes, northwest England, that builds Britain's new generation of nuclear submarines, police said on Wednesday.
"There is no nuclear risk," the police said in a statement, adding that there were no casualties and two people had been taken to hospital.
The police said that everyone else had been evacuated from the Devonshire Dock Hall facility and accounted for.
BAE's site in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, manufactures Royal Navy's Astute and Dreadnought submarines, according to BAE's website.
BAE is Britain's largest defense company.
BAE did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
Police have advised residents nearby to remain indoors.
