At least four people were injured after two drones fell in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport, the Dubai Media Office said on Wednesday.

However, the authorities confirmed that operations at the airport were not disrupted. Air traffic at Dubai International Airport continues to run normally despite the incident, officials added.

In a post on X, the media office revealed that of those who were injured, two were Ghanian nationals and one Bangladeshi, whereas an Indian national got moderately injured.

Four residents have been killed and more than 100 others injured in the UAE since February 28, Khaleej Times reported.

Separately, two members of the UAE's armed forces were martyred a day earlier when their helicopter crashed due to a technical malfunction while performing their national duty.

The Iranian attacks in the UAE and other Middle Eastern countries began in response to the U.S and Israel’s joint operation against Iran.

A day earlier, the UAE Ministry of Defence reported detecting nine ballistic missiles, destroying eight, while one fell into the sea. Authorities also identified 35 drones, intercepting 26, with nine falling within the country’s territory.

Since the start of the Iranian attacks on Feb. 28, air defence systems have detected 262 ballistic missiles, destroying 241, while 19 fell into the sea and two landed within the country, the ministry reported.

It added that a total of 1,475 Iranian drones have been identified, of which 1,385 were intercepted and 90 fell within national territory. Authorities also detected and destroyed eight cruise missiles.
