Iran launches 15th International Nanotechnology Exhibition, showcasing global leadership
Event highlights Iran's fourth place global ranking in nanotechnology publications and growing export market
Iran exports nano-tech products to 48 countries
Exhibition features student innovations and startup workshops
Total sales of Iranian nano-tech products exceed $600 million annually
Iran's 15th International Nanotechnology Exhibition (Iran Nano) opened its doors on Sunday in Tehran, spotlighting the country's rising prominence in the field and its expanding export market.
The event, running until November 6, brings together industry leaders, researchers and students to showcase innovations across various sectors.
Speaking to Nukta, Afshin Ramzi, head of international collaboration development from Iran Nano and Micro Technology Innovation Council, said, "We are one of the pioneers in this field. People are taking great interest in it."
He emphasized the growing enthusiasm, particularly among university and high school students, for nanotechnology.
Nanotechnology, which involves manipulating matter at the atomic and molecular scale, is transforming industries worldwide.
By working at the nanoscale—measured in nanometers, or one billionth of a meter—scientists and engineers are developing new materials with enhanced properties, including increased strength, improved chemical reactivity and superior electrical conductivity.
The exhibition features knowledge-based companies presenting their latest accomplishments in oil and energy, health and hygiene, water and environment, agriculture, automotive, and construction industries.

Iran's nano-tech products are currently exported to 48 countries, with Iraq, Afghanistan, Russia, Turkey, and Georgia accounting for 80% of exports.
Emad Ahmadvand, an official with the vice presidency for science and technology, reported that 1,808 nano-tech products have been produced and marketed in 15 different industrial fields this year, with total sales exceeding 300 trillion Iranian rials (approximately $600 million).
The exhibition, first held in 2004, has become an annual event attracting both domestic and foreign technologists.
As Iran continues to establish itself as a leader in nanotechnology, this year's exhibition not only highlights the country's technological prowess but also its potential for further growth and international collaboration in this cutting-edge field.
