MSCI has announced the results of the August 2024 Index Review for its MSCI Equity Indexes. The review will lead to the addition of seven companies and the deletion of four from the MSCI Frontier Markets Index.
The country-wise changes are as follows;
- Pakistan: Sazgar Engineering Works has been added to the MSCI FM Standard Index, with no deletions.
- Oman: Oman Cables Industry has been added, with no deletions from the MSCI FM Standard Index.
- Kenya: Co-Op Bank of Kenya has been added, with no deletions.
- Romania: Premier Energy has been added, with no deletions.
- Vietnam: As the highest-weighted country in the index, Vietnam saw the addition of Binh Duong Water Environment and Nam A Commercial, while Evn Finance and Petrovietnam Nhon Trach were removed.
- Croatia: Koncar Distribu I Pref has been added to the MSCI FM Standard Index, with no deletions.
There will be 22 additions to and eight deletions from the MSCI Frontier Markets Small Cap Index.
The country-wise changes are as follows;
- Sri Lanka: Richard Pieris & Company had been added, and Amana Bank was removed.
- Pakistan: Atlas Battery, Ghandhara Automobiles, Habib Sugar Mills, Lotte Chemical Pakistan, Octopus Digital, Soneri Bank have been added while Hascol Petroleum and Sazgar Engineering Works were removed.
- Oman: Raysut Cement Cohas has been deleted, with no additions.
- Morocco: Colorado has been added, with no deletions.
- Kenya: British American Tob Ke, Diamond Trust Bank Kenya, Kenya Electricity Gener, Kenya Reinsurance Corp, with no deletions.
- Tunisia: Tunisia Leasing has been added, with no deletions.
- Romania: Electromagnetica, Iproeb Bistrita has been added, and Antibiotice deleted.
- Vietnam: Dry Cell and Storage, HHP Global, LIX Detergent, Petrovietnam Nhon Trach, Viet Nam Fumigation have been added while Phu Tai, and Thai Nguyen Intl Hosp deleted.
- Iceland: Icelandair Group Holding has been added, with no deletions.
- Jordan: Union Investment Corphas been deleted, with no additions.
Due to ongoing market accessibility issues, MSCI will continue to withhold any changes in this Index Review for securities classified in Bangladesh within the MSCI Bangladesh Indexes or affected composite indexes.
