Dubai will change speed limits on five major roads from Nov. 1, Gulf News reported. Limits will rise on three roads and fall on two. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will replace signs and reprogram traffic cameras to match.

How fast can you drive before getting fined in Dubai?

Cameras generally do not record a violation at the posted limit. On many major roads, the radar threshold is typically 20 km/h above it. A road with an 80 km/h limit, for example, may have a threshold of 101 km/h. Motorists should still follow posted signs.

Which Dubai roads have new speed limits?

The new limits apply to specified sections of each road in both directions:

  • Al Asayel Street: 60 km/h to 80 km/h
  • Al Mustaqbal Street: 60 km/h to 70 km/h
  • Latifa bint Hamdan Street: 60 km/h to 70 km/h
  • Al Rebat Street: 100 km/h to 90 km/h
  • Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street: 80 km/h to 70 km/h

Motorists are advised to check the posted limits. This applies especially on Al Rebat Street and Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street, where limits will drop.

What is the radar grace limit in Dubai?

Dubai Police separates the posted speed limit from the radar control speed. The posted limit appears on road signs. The radar control speed is the point at which a camera records a violation.

This buffer is not permission to speed. Motorists should always follow road signs.
