Pakistan’s petrol pump owners have urged the government to replace daily fuel price adjustments with a 15-day pricing mechanism, saying frequent changes create business difficulties and undermine stability in the retail fuel sector.

The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association (APPPOA) raised the demand during a meeting with the petroleum secretary and special secretary for petroleum, according to a statement issued by the association.

Government officials assured APPPOA that steps would be taken to restore a 15-day pricing cycle as soon as possible, the statement said.

Pakistan shifted from fortnightly to weekly fuel price revisions in March 2026 before introducing daily pricing in July.

The association expressed concern over frequent price revisions and called for a more predictable system to protect petrol pump owners’ business interests and provide greater operational stability.

The association had previously called for a return to fortnightly pricing in May, citing difficulties caused by weekly adjustments.

It said government representatives also assured dealers that their business concerns and the prevailing national situation would be taken into consideration.

The association said it would continue efforts to safeguard petrol pump owners’ rights and promote improvements in Pakistan’s petroleum sector.
