Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, said that close coordination between military and civil institutions is essential for ensuring the stability and prosperity of Balochistan, a province frequently facing law and order challenges.
He made these remarks during his visit to Turbat to review the prevailing security situation and ongoing development initiatives, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.
Upon arrival, the army chief was received by the corps commander Balochistan, with Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, Chief Secretary Balochistan, and other senior officials accompanying him throughout the visit.
The COAS received a comprehensive briefing on the security dynamics, including threat assessments, successful operations against "Fitna al Hindustan", ongoing development projects, and efforts to improve socio-economic conditions in southern Balochistan.
In discussions with the chief minister and civil administration representatives, Field Marshal Munir highlighted the need for good governance, infrastructure development, and inclusive, people-centric growth.
He stressed that joint civil-military efforts are vital in addressing local challenges and reaffirmed the military’s support for programs aimed at socio-economic uplift in southern Balochistan.
Addressing troops, the army chief praised their high morale, operational readiness, and steadfast commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty, acknowledging their key role in maintaining peace under challenging conditions.
