The conference followed the formal establishment of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization, or WAICO, after founding member states, including Pakistan, signed the organization's founding agreement in Shanghai on Thursday.
Pakistan said it supports a global framework for artificial intelligence that promotes wider access to emerging technologies, strengthens capacity-building initiatives for developing countries and enhances international cooperation aimed at bridging the digital divide.
The Foreign Office said Islamabad believes the benefits of artificial intelligence should be shared equitably and that developing countries should have greater opportunities to participate in the rapidly evolving AI sector.
Pakistan, a founding member of WAICO, reaffirmed its commitment to advancing international cooperation in artificial intelligence while advocating for the interests and technological development of countries in the Global South, the Foreign Office said.
