The Embassy of Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates has temporarily halted in-person consular services “until further notice”, citing safety concerns amid escalating regional tensions, the mission announced on Wednesday.
The suspension follows guidance from the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, which advised private sector companies to adopt remote work and discouraged people from gathering in open areas.
In a statement, the embassy said the measure was taken “in the interest of the safety and well-being of community members and embassy staff.”

It urged Pakistani nationals in the UAE to follow local authorities’ instructions and stay updated via official announcements. The embassy also provided emergency contact numbers for those requiring urgent assistance, including landline, mobile and WhatsApp channels.
The move comes as the Middle East faces heightened instability following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, including the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and hundreds of air raids. Iran’s subsequent retaliatory actions have heightened tensions across the Gulf region, prompting authorities in several countries to implement precautionary measures and advise residents to stay vigilant.
Pakistani nationals in the UAE are advised to monitor embassy communications for updates on the resumption of consular services and to take necessary precautions as the regional security situation develops.
