Pakistan Petroleum discovers hydrocarbons in Sindh
Pateji X-1 Well flows 12.4 mmscfd gas and 196 bpd of condensate
Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has announced discovery of hydrocarbons in the Shah Bandar Block located in District Sujawal, Sindh.
According to the details, the Pateji X-1 well was spudded on October 11, 2024, and drilled down to a depth of 2,475 meters.
The well flowed 12.4 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas and 196 barrels per day of condensate.
PPL is the operator of the Shah Bandar Block with a 63% working interest, while its joint venture partners include Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL), Sindh Energy Holding Company Limited (SEHCL), and Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL), as per the PPL's notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The discovery is a result of the collective efforts of these partners, who will now work together to conduct further testing and evaluation to determine the commercial viability of the discovery.
