The spokesperson emphasized that India's "so-called official maps and unilateral claims of sovereignty" hold no bearing under international law.

He reiterated that relevant UNSC resolutions explicitly stipulate that the final disposition of the region must be decided through a free and impartial plebiscite conducted under UN auspices to determine the will of the Kashmiri people.
