Rashid Al Dhaheri leads the charge in Formula Trophy UAE ahead of Yas race
With one win and two second-place finishes, he heads into the second round of the championship, which will be part of the prestigious Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend this coming Saturday.
Rashid Al Dhaheri, UAE's rising motorsport star, is leading the charge in the newly-revamped Formula Trophy series, following a stellar performance in the opening round in Dubai.
With one win and two second-place finishes, he heads into the second round of the championship, which will be part of the prestigious Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend this coming Saturday, WAM reported.
Behind the wheel of his Prema Mumbai Falcons team car, Al Dhaheri is eager to extend his championship lead at his home track.
"It is amazing to be back in the UAE racing in front of my home crowd. After another successful year of competing around Europe in the Italian F4 and Euro F4 series, it is a very special feeling to be driving my Prema car in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I will only be doing the first two rounds of the event championship, as I am moving up from F4 to Formula Regional and have to prepare for next year's season, but I still want to win as many races as possible."
For 2024, the Formula Trophy has expanded beyond its previous role as a stand-alone event during the Grand Prix weekend. The series now consists of three rounds, leading into the newly established F4 Middle East 2025 Championship set to begin in January.

Al Dhaheri further said:
“It is nice to have a 12-point lead in the Formula Trophy Championship after the first three races, even if I won’t be able to complete all three events, It is great that I will continue with Prema Racing, the team I have been with from the day I moved from karting into single-seater racing, and we are all looking forward to Formula Regional.”
The 2025 season will mark the fifth year of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA), the only FIA-certified series that officially bridges the gap between Formula 4 and Formula 3 on the FIA global motorsport pathway. For Al Dhaheri, it’s the next big step in what’s shaping up to be a promising racing career.
