Security forces killed 10 terrorists, including a female militant, in Gwadar operations after militants attacked near the Gabd Border Crossing and in Gwadar city on October 22, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday. The militants sought to undermine the state's writ in Balochistan, according to the military's media wing.

How many terrorists were killed in the Gwadar operations?

ISPR said security forces killed 10 terrorists, one of them a female militant, in exchanges of fire after launching clearance operations in and around Gwadar city. One civilian was killed and several vehicles were damaged. No security personnel died, and the military's media wing said order was restored in the affected areas.

Why did the militants attack Gwadar, according to ISPR?

ISPR said the militants, whom it described as Indian-sponsored, sought to undermine the writ of the state, target local residents and obstruct development and prosperity in Balochistan. Security forces then launched clearance operations in and around Gwadar city to protect residents and eliminate the threat.

In separate engagements, the forces foiled the militants' attempts to spread violence and advance their agenda, the statement said.

What did ISPR say about the woman involved in the attack?

ISPR said the involvement of a Baloch woman in the attack highlighted what it described as the terrorists' exploitation of women for propaganda purposes and to provoke public sentiment. It said such tactics were contrary to Baloch and Islamic traditions, which accord women a position of honor and respect.

The statement added that the people of Balochistan had consistently rejected violence carried out in their name.

What happens next in the counter-terrorism campaign?

ISPR said the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of "Azm-e-Istehkam" would continue at full pace. The vision was approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain determined to eliminate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country, the statement added.
