Airport coordinating with strategic partners to maintain efficiency
Enhanced safety standards and security procedures implemented
Sharjah International Airport, one of the Gulf region's major aviation hubs announced Saturday it is prepared to handle more than 800,000 passengers during the first half of July as the busy summer travel season peaks, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
The airport expects to process the massive passenger volume between July 1-15, representing a significant surge in travel demand as families across the Middle East and South Asia embark on summer vacations and business travel resumes after the holy month of Ramadan earlier this year.
Sharjah Airport Authority has coordinated with strategic partners to implement enhanced operational measures designed to maintain efficiency and passenger comfort during the high-traffic period. The authority said it has intensified round-the-clock operations with additional customer service staff to assist travelers and guide them through the airport's digital services and modern technologies.
Airport officials are advising passengers to arrive three hours before their scheduled departure times to avoid potential delays in completing travel procedures. Travelers are also encouraged to contact their airlines in advance to confirm flight times and any schedule changes.
The authority emphasized its commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards while updating security procedures to align with rapid developments in the aviation sector. Officials said they continue to enhance logistical and health protocols to ensure smooth operations.
Sharjah Airport's preparation for the summer rush reinforces its position as a preferred travel hub and significant player in regional and international aviation, serving routes across the Middle East, South Asia, and beyond.
