Solar prices surge in Pakistan ahead of expected tax hike

Solar equipment has become more expensive across Pakistan as the market reacts to a proposed increase in tax on solar products from 10% to 18%.

Prices of panels have risen by up to PKR 4,000, while inverters and lithium batteries have also seen a noticeable uptick in recent days.

Dealers in Karachi warn that further increases may follow if the new tax is approved.
