14-year-old house help beaten to death for eating chocolates in Pakistan's Rawalpindi
Investigations reveal the accused tortured Iqra repeatedly, making it difficult for doctors to save her life
A 14-year-old domestic worker was brutally beaten to death by her employers in Pakistan's Rawalpindi after she ate chocolates without permission, police said.
The victim, Iqra, had been working in the home of a married couple, who are now in jail. Authorities say the couple used sticks to beat the girl in a violent assault that led to her death.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Malik Rafaqat told Nuktathat the victim had been subjected to repeated abuse.
“The accused was torturing the victim for the past ten to fifteen days, which made it difficult for the doctors to save her life,” he said.
As the investigation continues, disturbing details are emerging about the violence Iqra endured before her death. Police say the couple also threatened Iqra’s father, attempting to silence him as the case gained attention.
