U.S. electric vehicle giant Tesla is set to begin operations in Saudi Arabia next month, with a launch event scheduled for April 10 at Bujairi Terrace in Riyadh.
“You and your family are warmly invited to our launch event at the Bujairi Terrace on April 10,” the company said on its website.
The event will feature Tesla’s bestselling EV lineup, a showcase of solar energy and battery technologies, and a glimpse into the company’s innovations in AI and robotics—including its autonomous Cybercab and humanoid robot, Optimus.
Tesla’s entry into the Saudi market comes amid a challenging period for the company. Its stock has taken a hit this year amid slowing EV demand, growing competition from lower-priced alternatives, and backlash over CEO Elon Musk’s polarizing political statements.
While Tesla vehicles have been available in the UAE since 2017 and through a dealership in Qatar, Saudi Arabia represents a new and promising market for the automaker in the Gulf region.
