The United Arab Emirates has carried out an urgent medical evacuation of 57 patients from the Gaza Strip, along with their family members, as part of its ongoing humanitarian initiative Operation Gallant Knight 3.

This latest mission brings the total number of evacuees under the operation since October 2023 to nearly 3,000, according to WAM.

The evacuation was conducted via Israel’s Ramon Airport and the Kerem Abu Salem crossing, marking the 29th medical evacuation organized by the UAE Aid Agency.

The broader initiative aims to provide medical treatment for 1,000 wounded Palestinians and 1,000 cancer patients in hospitals across the UAE.

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, vice chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, stated that the UAE continues its commitment to easing the suffering of those affected by conflicts and crises worldwide, particularly in light of the ongoing humanitarian emergency in Gaza.

Shamsi noted that the country's relief operations are ongoing.

They include healthcare, medicines, and medical supplies provided aboard the UAE’s floating hospital off the coast of Al Arish, Egypt, as well as services delivered by the UAE field hospital in southern Gaza.

Ship carrying tons-loads of aid reached Egypt

An Emirati aid ship carrying 7,200 tons of essential supplies for Palestinians on Thursday docked at Egypt's Al Arish Port, ahead of its transfer to the Gaza Strip, The National reported.

The vessel, called the UAE Humanitarian Ship, set sail from the Emirates on Oct. 17, laden with 4,680 tons of food, 2,160 tons of shelter materials, tents and clothing, as well as 360 tons of medical goods and four water tanks.

The relief effort aims to mitigate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, as a fragile truce between Israel and Hamas hangs in the balance.

The UAE’s operations underline its sustained global humanitarian efforts and its role in providing timely medical assistance to civilians affected by conflict.
