UAE, Iran review regional issues in Tehran political talks
Talks in Tehran focused on shared interests, regional peace and security, according to UAE state news agency

The United Arab Emirates and Iran held the second session of political consultations in Tehran, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said, according to the state-run WAM news agency.
The meeting was co-chaired by UAE Minister of State Lana Nusseibeh and Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi, WAM reported.
It was attended by Khalid Belhoul, the UAE ambassador to Iran, Reza Ameri, Iran’s ambassador to the UAE, and senior officials from both sides.
The two sides welcomed the consultations as an opportunity to address a broad range of issues of mutual concern, WAM said.
Officials discussed bilateral ties and practical ways to advance shared interests for the benefit of both countries and their peoples, the agency reported.
They also reviewed several foreign policy files, including recent regional developments affecting peace and security and efforts to address them.
The consultations concluded with an agreement to maintain regular coordination and to activate joint technical committees to speed implementation of existing agreements and explore new areas of cooperation.
During her visit, Nusseibeh was also received by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, according to WAM.
Nusseibeh conveyed greetings from Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs, and discussed issues affecting regional peace and security.
