UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a phone call from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss bilateral ties and key regional developments, including the situations in Gaza and Sudan, state news agency WAM reported.
The two officials reviewed the strength of the strategic partnership between the UAE and the United States and exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Discussions focused on the conflict in the Gaza Strip, where both sides stressed the importance of supporting peace initiatives and advancing the objectives of an international peace framework. They also addressed the phased implementation of US President Donald Trump’s plan and the need to meet its commitments.
The officials emphasized the urgency of expanding humanitarian assistance to Gaza, highlighting the need to address civilian needs and alleviate suffering.
The situation in Sudan was also discussed, with Abdullah bin Zayed underscoring the need for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and a transition to an independent civilian-led government free from the influence of the warring parties.
The call concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to continued coordination aimed at promoting regional peace, stability and development.
