UAE petrol prices for June 2026 jumped nearly 8% to their highest level in almost four years, driven by surging global oil rates following the Middle East war and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, according to Khaleej Times.
What are the UAE petrol prices for June 2026?
Super 98 petrol costs Dh3.95 per liter in June 2026, up from Dh3.66 in May. Special 95 is priced at Dh3.83 per liter, compared to Dh3.55 last month.
E-Plus 91 costs Dh3.76 per liter, up from Dh3.48 in May. All three grades rose by roughly 8% month-on-month.
How do June's prices compare to previous highs?
The June 2026 fuel prices are the highest since August 2022, when rates crossed Dh4 per liter for the first time in the UAE amid the Russia-Ukraine war.
At that peak, Super 98, Special 95 and E-Plus 92 were priced at Dh4.03, Dh3.92 and Dh3.84 per liter, respectively. Current prices remain just below that record threshold.
Why do UAE petrol prices change every month?
The UAE deregulated local petrol and diesel prices in 2015 to align them with global market rates. Since then, retail fuel prices are revised at the end of each month based on prevailing international oil benchmarks.
The June increase reflects the sharp rise in global crude prices triggered by the ongoing Middle East conflict and Strait of Hormuz disruptions.
