UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a telephone call on Monday with King Abdullah II of Jordan, during which the leaders discussed the close relations between their countries and explored ways to strengthen cooperation in areas that serve the interests of their peoples, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

The two leaders also reviewed several regional and international issues of mutual concern and exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East.

They emphasized the importance of advancing the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid to alleviate civilian suffering.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and King Abdullah II underlined the need to work towards a just and comprehensive peace in the region, stressing that a two-state solution remains the only viable framework for lasting stability and security.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace and stability across the region and highlighted the importance of resolving conflicts through dialogue and diplomatic means in the interest of all peoples.
