The UAE Federal Supreme Court took part in the seventh General Assembly of the Arab Union for Administrative Judiciary (AUAJ) and the Union’s fourth international conference, convened in Cairo with delegations from several member states, WAM reported.
Opening the conference - titled “The Future of Administrative Justice in Light of the Challenges of Artificial Intelligence: A Comparative Reading between International Experiences and the Arab Reality” - Federal Supreme Court President Mohamed Hamad Al Badi Al Dhaheri highlighted the profound impact of emerging technologies on governance and society.
He noted that artificial intelligence has become a central force shaping the global future, influencing critical sectors from the economy and education to administration — and even the judiciary. Against this backdrop, he said, administrative justice must navigate a careful balance between human judgement and technological efficiency.
“Justice is not a calculation; it is a moral value carried in the judge’s conscience before it is written in a ruling,” he said.
Al Dhaheri also outlined the UAE’s advanced digital transformation journey, emphasizing the country’s leadership in e-justice systems and smart courts. He stressed that technological progress has been achieved without compromising judicial independence, integrity, or data security.
He affirmed that the UAE has successfully aligned innovation with legal safeguards, ensuring that AI serves as a tool to support judges - enhancing analysis and efficiency - without replacing their human judgement.
