The actors of Aik Aur Pakeezah emphasize the importance of speaking up against injustice in a digital age

The drama also aims to educate viewers on legal rights and protections available in Pakistan

In a media landscape often driven by formulaic storytelling, Aik Aur Pakeezah, the upcoming drama by the Kashf Foundation, emerges as a bold intervention that tackles issues many prefer to ignore.

The series centers on cyber harassment, gender-based violence, coerced marriage and the harsh realities of Pakistan’s legal system. Through its narrative, the drama aims to confront, question and compel viewers to reflect on how society treats women who seek justice.

The story follows a young woman whose life is violently upended when a manipulated video of her goes viral. What begins as a digital assault quickly spirals into a wider social tragedy. The drama exposes how swiftly honor, blame and judgment are weaponized against women, often leaving them isolated and defenseless. Her pursuit of justice becomes a harrowing journey through character assassination, societal pressure and institutional failure, offering a stark look at how the system frequently falls short of protecting survivors.

In an exclusive highlight video, Nukta spoke with the cast of Aik Aur Pakeezah, giving viewers an intimate look at the emotional and psychological weight of portraying these realities. The actors discussed not only their characters but also the responsibility that comes with telling stories that mirror the lived experiences of countless women across Pakistan, who often fight silent battles within their homes, communities and online spaces.

While speaking to Nukta, the cast stressed the importance of speaking out against injustice in an era where digital content can easily be misused as a weapon. They said the drama also aims to outline key dos and don’ts for those facing similar situations and to raise awareness about the legal protections available to citizens in Pakistan.

Written by Bee Gul and directed by Kashif Nisar, the project is produced by the Kashf Foundation, an organization known for using media as a tool for social advocacy. Its previous acclaimed projects include Udaari, Rihai, Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi and Zard Patton Ka Bun.

The drama stars Sehar Khan and Nameer Khan in the lead roles. The supporting cast includes Gohar Rasheed, Noor-ul-Hassan, Hina Bayat, Nadia Afgan, Amna Ilyas, Saqib Sameer and Ali Jan.
