The presidents of the United Arab Emirates and Syria met in Abu Dhabi during a working visit by the Syrian leader, where they discussed bilateral relations and regional developments, WAM reported.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks with Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa focusing on strengthening cooperation in economic and development sectors and advancing ties in line with shared interests.

Both sides also reviewed regional developments in the Middle East, including their implications for regional stability, international security, maritime routes and the global economy.

Al-Sharaa condemned attacks attributed to Iran targeting civilians and infrastructure in the UAE and other countries, describing them as violations of sovereignty and international law that threaten regional stability. He also praised the UAE’s security measures and efforts to maintain stability and protect its population.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral relations and supporting development and prosperity for their peoples.

The Syrian president was received upon arrival in Abu Dhabi by UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other senior officials.
