The UAE will join Pakistan in celebrating the 77th anniversary of its independence with a large public event in Dubai on August 11. The event will be attended by UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan and Pakistan's Ambassador to the UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, along with a distinguished group of diplomats, economic figures, and members of the Pakistani community in the UAE.

The 12-hour event is organized by the "Emirates Loves Pakistan" page in collaboration with the Pakistan Association Dubai. The celebration aims to honor the historical ties and longstanding friendship between the two nations, while strengthening people-to-people connections, the organizers said.

Time and location

The event, hosted at the Dubai World Trade Centre, is expected to attract around 10,000 attendees and will feature a diverse program of cultural and artistic performances, musical shows, and heritage activities that showcase various aspects of Pakistani culture.

The second largest

Pakistanis form the second largest foreign community in the UAE, with over 2 million residents, which consists 16% of the total expat population.

The UAE is Pakistan's most significant trading partner, as it ranks first as the largest investor in the country. Last May, the UAE announced the allocation of $10 billion to invest in promising economic sectors in Pakistan.
