A 26-year-old man pleaded guilty Wednesday to the murders of a BBC commentator’s wife and two daughters in a chilling attack that involved a crossbow and a knife.

Kyle Clifford admitted to killing Carol Hunt, 61, and her daughters Louise, 25, and Hannah, 28, in their home in Bushey, northwest of London. Carol was the wife of John Hunt, a BBC horseracing commentator.

Appearing via video link at Cambridge Crown Court, Clifford changed his pleas to guilty on three counts of murder.

He also pleaded guilty to false imprisonment and possession of offensive weapons but denied raping Louise, his former partner.

The court heard how Clifford tied Louise’s arms and ankles with duct tape before shooting her in the chest with a crossbow. He also stabbed Carol and Hannah to death during the July attack.

Authorities launched a manhunt after the bodies were found, leading to Clifford's arrest days later. The home is in a leafy commuter town about 15 miles from central London.

Clifford faces life in prison, with sentencing scheduled for next month.
