He lost his sight in eighth grade. He spent three years out of school. Then he topped the Karachi Board.
Hans Raj from Thana Bula Khan became the first blind student to take the Karachi Intermediate Board exams on a computer, securing the top position among around 9,500 sighted candidates in the Humanities group.
But that was only the beginning.
Today, Hans is pursuing a BS in Computer Science at NED University while also studying to become a Chartered Accountant. He has also won a bronze medal at an international rowing competition.
From losing his sight to returning to education and topping his board exams, Hans Raj’s journey is a powerful story of determination, accessibility, and ambition.
