Ivory Coast suffered a massive 264-run defeat to Nigeria in Lagos during the 2026 T20 World Cup regional qualifier, scoring only seven runs. This marked the lowest total ever recorded in a men's T20 International.

After choosing to bat first, Nigeria's Selim Salau smashed an explosive 112 off 53 balls, supported by half-centuries from Sulaimon Runsewe (50 off 29) and Isaac Okpe (65* off 23). Their efforts propelled Nigeria to a commanding total of 271 for 4.

In response, Ivory Coast struggled disastrously. Opener Ouattara Mohamed was the top-scorer with just four runs, while Mimi Alex, Maiga Ibrahim, and Dje Claude contributed a single run each. Six batters failed to score, with their innings reading: 4, 0, 1, 0, 0, 1, 0, 1, 0, 0*, and 0.

Nigeria's bowlers were relentless, with left-arm spinner Isaac Danladi and left-arm pacer Prosper Useni taking three wickets apiece. Right-arm quick Peter Aho claimed two wickets, Sylvester Okpe took one, and a run-out completed the dismissals, wrapping up Ivory Coast's innings in just 7.3 overs.

This victory was Nigeria's second consecutive win in the group stage, keeping them at the top of the six-team table.Nigeria Cricket Federation

This marked the first-ever single-digit team total in men's T20Is, surpassing the previous lowest totals of 10 runs shared by Mongolia and the Isle of Man. In women's T20Is, the lowest total remains six runs, held by Maldives and Mali.

The 264-run margin of victory was the third-largest in men's T20Is. The highest remains Zimbabwe's 290-run win over Gambia, followed by Nepal's 273-run triumph over Mongolia at the 2023 Asian Games.

This victory was Nigeria's second consecutive win in the group stage, keeping them at the top of the six-team table. On the other hand, Ivory Coast, who were bowled out for 21 in their opening loss to Sierra Leone, remain winless and at the bottom of the standings.
