Dine like a star at these celeb-owned hotspots in Dubai
Cristiano Ronaldo, Rafael Nadal and Pau Gasol’s Tatel recently opened its doors in the city, soon to be followed by Toto.
Celebrities, they’re just like us!
Even stars love a good side hustle. And adding restaurants to their resume seems to be a popular choice. After all, they’re the ones traveling the world, eating at the best of the best establishments on the regular. They’re bound to have an elevated palate … right?
While the jury’s still out on whether they’re a hit or miss, the thought of dining at a celeb-owned eatery is kind of exciting. Who knows, you might even run into them there!
Here are a few restaurants in Dubai that are backed by some serious star power:
- Tatel
Tatel brings not one but three superstar athletes together. Cristiano Ronaldo, Rafael Nadal and Pau Gasol’s latest venture just opened its door in Dubai last month. The Spanish haute cuisine joint is soon to be followed by Italian eatery, Toto, also owned by the trio, already operational in Abu Dhabi.
- Lala Darbar
Cricket champ Shahid Afridi is doing the Lord’s work by giving Pakistani food its moment in the sun. Serving up “authentic desi cuisine”, the modest resto maintains an affordable price point so that everyone can get to try the food he loves and grew up eating.
- Asha’s
Unique, like her voice, Asha Bhosle’s Asha’s plates up contemporary Indian cuisine and features signature dishes like Keralan chilli garlic prawns, murgh malai kebabs and lamb parda biryani. The singing icon’s restaurant is so beloved that it’s got 3 locations in the UAE; one in Dubai and two in Abu Dhabi.
- Nobu
Nobu’s miso black cod over everything. If you know, you know. Helmed by Robert DeNiro and chef Nobu Matsuhisa, who’s a celebrity in his own right, Nobu is the kind of swanky spot that is regularly name-dropped in Drake songs. Do it for the gram but also for the grub because the food never disappoints.
Coming soon: one8 Commune
Established in 2017, cricketer Virat Kohli’s restaurant and pub, one8 Commune has been wildly popular in India and will soon be making its way to Dubai. We can’t wait to see what the vibes will be like for this one. We know it’s going to be thoughtfully curated as the one in Mumbai operates out of late singer Kishore Kumar’s bungalow.
