Dubai ruler’s remarks come amid a lull in US-Iran tensions after weeks of escalation that brought UAE security risks and airspace disruptions.

Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has called on residents across the UAE to raise the national flag over homes, institutions and buildings as a symbol of unity, pride and resilience following weeks of regional tensions, Khaleej Times reported.

In a statement marking what he described as the country’s collective response to recent crises, Sheikh Mohammed — Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE as well as Ruler of Dubai — said the Emirates “entered the recent crisis united and emerged stronger, bound by solidarity and loyalty.”

He praised citizens and residents of all ages and nationalities for standing “as one under the nation’s flag,” adding that the UAE flag represents “strength and pride” and urging it be displayed widely “as a sign of our love, loyalty and unity.”

His remarks come as the region experiences a temporary lull in hostilities following heightened tensions linked to the US-Iran conflict, during which the UAE faced intermittent security risks and airspace disruptions.

Sheikh Mohammed also highlighted national cohesion during the period, sharing a video celebrating public solidarity. He said the country remained stable throughout the crisis, noting that daily life and key public events continued despite heightened alert levels.

During the escalation phase, including days when Iranian missiles were intercepted over UAE airspace, public life in Dubai remained largely uninterrupted.

The report noted that Meydan Racecourse hosted Super Saturday on February 28, 2026, with Sheikh Mohammed in attendance. He was also seen taking part in Ramadan engagements, including breaking fast at Al Majlis in Madinat Jumeirah and visiting Dubai Hills Mall, where he interacted with residents.
